On June 11th 2009 EAS Musikmanagement GmbH, an artist agency based in Berlin (Germany) and meant to represent soloists and ensembles in the classical music world was born. EAS stands for the broader European Artistic Services – an arts organizations group (The EAS Group), thought from the very beginning to develop and expand during the years to come, creating different types of other arts organizations, directly and indirectly connected to the agency.
EAS Musikmanagement started off in 2009 representing pianists, violinists and string quartets, either in general management or in local management combining the German speaking countries with Eastern Europe, France and Spain. In 2016 a new conductors-division for local management in Germany was added.
In January 2013 Andreea co-founded with pianist Carmen Delia Romero the classical recording label eaSonus. The recordings released complemented the concert careers of the artists she represents. It also allows certain artists with a great recording history to revisit certain repertoire, which they have previously already recorded. A PR division was created in order to support these releases. EAS believes that this circle (concerts/REC/Press/PR) needed to be completed in order to have all agendas under one roof and avoid that artists have to depend on three different companies with their own profiles and goals and very often quite different time-schedules. Every element in the circle feeds and supports the others, creating a wheel that turns by itself.
The CDs produced by eaSonus have received great press reviews and one of them was chosen Solo CD of the year 2014 at the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA), the only not-nationalistic recording prize. eaSonus is distributed world-wide by harmonia mundi/PIAS.
In 2014 Andreea Butucariu developed a Consulting scheme called Active Management Consulting. The goal is to help instrumentalists and students whom the EAS Musikmanagement is unable to take on and represent to understand how the music world functions and to help them come every day a step forward. The system consists in recurring management master classes that advises, informs and directs clients to the ‘right’ doors.
The newest arts organization under the roof of The EAS Group - Andalucía Clásica – is a concert series conceived by Carmen Delia Romero and Andreea Butucariu, series which will present concerts in beautiful cities in all eight provinces of Andalusia (Spain).
Carmen Delia Romero
Andreea Butucariu is a violinist and a performance major graduate of the University of Montreal, Indiana University and Montclair State University. Aside from music, mathematics and languages always fascinated her. At the end of her studies, already fluent in several European languages, she was looking for her real vocation, that she felt would combine all the things she enjoyed, came natural to her and she had trained for. One day, she had a Eureka moment: it was Arts Management! Her first position was as an artist manager in Hamburg (Germany) at Impresariat Simmenauer, one of the most respected agencies in the classical music field. In April of 2009 she left Hamburg and moved to Berlin (Germany), where she founded her own agency: EAS Musikmanagement GmbH. EAS stands for European Artistic Services, home to several arts organizations under one roof meant to be created gradually. In addition to the work with the Musikmanagement and the other EAS arts organizations (the recording label eaSonus and the concert series Andalucía Clásica), Andreea was also based in Sydney (Australia) for half a year working with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. There she planned and conceived the concert programs and the Season 2016 of the ensemble, alongside artistic director Richard Tognetti. 2016 also sees the beginning of a new era within the Musikmanagement, as Andreea creates a new conductors-division for local management in Germany.
Since teaches at the "Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales" in Madrid (Spain) and lectures on the topic of Artist Agencies, Artist Management, the Classical Music World behind the scenes and what it takes to build a career in music in different Conservatories.
Carmen Delia Romero
Carmen is a pianist and performance major graduate of Conservatorio Superior de Música in Salamanca. At the end of her studies, and upon a personal invitation from the great pianist and pedagogue Dinorah Varsi, Carmen moved to Berlin to study with her. She was D. Varsi’s last piano student. Back in Spain in 2008, Carmen auditioned and won a professorship position at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón, in Zaragoza (Spain).
If one can indeed judge a person by the library they own, Carmen’s goes from Adorno and Shopenhauer, passing through Jocelyn Godwin’s books, and to the world of ancient history and enigmas with such writers as Javier Sierra and J. J. Benitez. A great ability of universal knowledge fused into music, and in musical thought is one of the great forces she brings to the EAS Group. Maria Montessori’s writings and her Method have been a revelation and the catalyzer for a new music education project for children, that Carmen is working on.
Writing and painting have always been one of her strengths and her Master Thesis "Recordings after the phonograph" is one of life’s wise and fortunate winks, a premonition of her work 7 years later with the Label eaSonus, which coincided with the beginning of her collaboration with the EAS Group. Now a Co-Director of the EAS Group, she brings everyday artistic and logistical input in the work of the company. Additionally, she creates and supervises all the design work for the recording label and internet presence needed for the different organizations.
2016 saw the birth of Andalusía Clásica – of which she is the President - a new Concert Series in her homeland Andalusia, meant to organize classical concerts in all eight Andalusian provinces.
